FAQ

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a hair removal method that involves inserting a thin probe into the hair follicle. Then, an electric current is delivered through the probe, damaging the follicle and preventing further hair growth. This method is suitable for all areas of the body and can be used on any skin type. Electrolysis is the only method that truly removes hair permanently and does not require maintenance treatments after completing the full series.

What should I know before electrolysis treatment?

  1. At least two weeks before the treatment, avoid sunbathing and tanning beds.

  2. At least two weeks before the treatment, avoid using any cosmetic products containing alpha- or beta-hydroxy acids, retinol, or benzoic acid.

  3. At least two days before the treatment, avoid using harsh skin cleansing products, such as peels or exfoliants.

  4. On the day of the treatment, do not use deodorants or antiperspirants if the treatment is to be done in the underarm area.

  5. Avoid coffee, alcohol, and smoking 24 hours before the treatment.

  6. From the moment of booking the treatment, moisturize the skin intensively and drink plenty of water.

  7. On the day of the treatment, the hairs to be removed should be at least 3-4 mm long.

How to schedule an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, we recommend using our website. It is very convenient because you can choose a suitable date, time, and specialist. Just click on the “BOOK NOW” tab, select the area to be treated, and then choose the treatment duration. If this is your first visit to the salon, after clicking “BOOK NOW” and selecting the area to be treated, choose “CONSULTATION.” During the consultation, the specialist will conduct an initial interview and then perform a 15-minute “test” treatment. After booking, you will receive a confirmation of your appointment via email and SMS, along with a questionnaire about contraindications. After completing the questionnaire, you will receive information by email on how to prepare for the treatment and what to do before and after it.

What happens during the first visit?

The first visit is a consultation combined with a treatment, during which an initial interview will be conducted. The specialist will answer all questions related to the treatment and carefully examine the skin and hair, allowing them to estimate the approximate number of treatments and the time needed for hair removal. Additionally, a so-called “test” treatment will be performed. This treatment is like any other, lasts 15 minutes, and allows the client to become familiar with the electrolysis method. The entire consultation and treatment last 30 minutes.

How many treatments are needed to achieve results, and is it necessary to repeat treatments later to maintain the effect?

The number of treatments is very individual. It depends on the hair removal method used, genetics, and hormones. On average, between 8 and 18 treatments are needed. However, after completing the treatment series, maintenance visits will no longer be necessary.

What is the cost of electrolysis?

The cost of the treatment is determined individually and mainly depends on the condition of the area undergoing electrolysis. During the first visit, the specialist will assess the scope of work and provide an approximate cost of the treatment. The hourly service price can be checked in the “PRICING” section, which allows for an approximate estimate of the total treatment cost. It should also be remembered that the cost will decrease with subsequent treatments as the hair grows back thinner and sparser. For larger areas, we also offer the option to purchase hourly packages.

How long does electrolysis take?

Each of us is different; some have dense hair while others have sparse hair. The time needed to remove hair in the same area is difficult to predict for different people. During the first visit, a specialist will be able to estimate the time required for electrolysis, and with subsequent treatments, the duration of visits will shorten as the hair grows back sparser and weaker. For example, a single treatment under the armpits takes between 1.5 to 3.5 hours.

Can electrolysis be applied to every type of hair?

Yes, electrolysis treatment can be performed on hair regardless of its color or texture. It can remove gray as well as black, curly, straight, thin, and thick hair. Hormonal hair can also be treated.

Does electrolysis hurt?

There is no clear-cut answer to this question. Pain perception is an individual matter for each person. It’s important to remember that electrolysis is not a relaxing treatment, but it is tolerable. Some people, for example, feel warmth or slight tingling. There are several ways to reduce the level of perceived pain, such as avoiding coffee shortly before the visit, or using a numbing cream in case of sensitivity. To determine your pain threshold, we encourage you to try a 'test' electrolysis session during your consultation. Treatments at our salon are carried out using the most advanced equipment, making electrolysis far less painful than in the past. Additionally, the procedures are performed by trained specialists with thousands of hours of experience, ensuring precision and maximum comfort during the treatment.

Is electrolysis safe?

Due to its effectiveness and safety, electrolysis has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the German Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. Additionally, treatments are performed under sterile conditions using disposable probes. The treatment room and equipment are disinfected after each client.

What to choose: Electrolysis or Laser Hair Removal?

Electrolysis can be used on all areas of the body, regardless of skin pigmentation, hair color, or the presence of tattoos. As a result, the treated hairs do not grow back, and the area remains permanently hair-free. Laser treatments, on the other hand, are often advertised as “permanent hair removal,” but according to the FDA, the effect is not always permanent. Moreover, laser treatment does not work on light-colored hair — unlike electrolysis.

Can electrolysis be performed on tattooed skin?

Yes, areas of the body with tattoos can also undergo treatment. Electrolysis is performed in a different layer of the skin than the one containing tattoo ink. However, accelerated fading of the tattoo color may occur due to increased skin healing processes after electrolysis. Our specialists will do their best to perform the treatment with the greatest precision, especially in the tattooed area.

Are there risks and side effects associated with electrolysis?

Redness and slight swelling may appear on areas treated with electrolysis — this is a natural skin reaction to electrical current. In our salon, treatments are performed by specialists who have undergone necessary training and accumulated thousands of hours of experience, so thanks to their knowledge and precision, side effects are minimal.
