Electrolysis is a method of permanent hair removal. The specialist inserts a fine, single-use probe into the hair follicle, and a pulse of current destroys the papilla that nourishes the hair. After each treatment the hair grows weaker until it stops growing completely. The method works on every part of the body and every skin type, and once the course is complete you do not need maintenance treatments.

1. On the day of the treatment your hair should be at least 3 to 4 mm long: this is usually 5 to 7 days after shaving or 3 weeks after waxing or sugaring. On the face, do not pluck or thread hairs for about 3 weeks before your visit.

2. Avoid sunbathing and sunbeds for 2 weeks before the treatment.

3. For 2 weeks before the treatment, do not use cosmetics containing AHA or BHA acids, retinol or benzoic acid.

4. Avoid peels and other exfoliating treatments for 2 days before the treatment.

5. For a few days before your visit, keep your skin well moisturised and drink plenty of water: hydrated skin needs less current, so you feel the treatment less.

6. On the day of the treatment, do not apply any cosmetics to the treatment area, and for underarm treatments no deodorant or antiperspirant either.

7. Avoid coffee, alcohol and cigarettes for 24 hours before the treatment.

If it is your first visit, choose “Consultation”: it takes 30 minutes, including a 15-minute trial treatment. After booking you will receive a confirmation by text message and e-mail, along with a short contraindications questionnaire. Once you have filled it in, we will e-mail you advice on how to prepare for the treatment and how to care for your skin afterwards.

Your first visit is a consultation with a trial treatment. The specialist will ask you a few questions, examine your skin and hair, check how your skin responds to the current and answer all your questions. They will then carry out a 15-minute trial treatment so you can experience the method first-hand. Finally, they will tell you roughly how many treatments you will need and how long hair removal will take. The whole visit takes 30 minutes and costs 150 zł.

At first you come once a week until we have removed all visible hair for the first time. After that, visits are every 2 to 3 weeks, and towards the end every 4 to 6 weeks. The whole course usually takes 1 to 2 years, depending on the area, hair density, genetics and hormones. Once the course is complete, you do not need maintenance treatments.

You pay for treatment time: 15 minutes costs 120 zł, an hour costs 260 zł, and longer visits work out cheaper per minute. You will find all prices in the “Price list” section. At your first visit the specialist will assess the area and give you an estimated cost for the whole course. With each treatment there is less hair, so visits get shorter and cheaper. If you come regularly, the Karta Kursu (390 zł for 12 months) takes 10% off every electrolysis treatment.

It depends on the area and how dense the hair is. Clearing all the hair from an area for the first time takes anything from under an hour to several hours in total, for example 2 to 4 hours for the underarms. We spread this over weekly visits lasting from 15 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the area. Each visit is shorter than the last, because the hair grows back sparser and weaker.

Yes. We remove hair of any colour and texture: grey and black, light and red, curly and straight, fine and coarse. Electrolysis also works on hormonal hair growth.

Everyone feels it differently. You will not feel the probe going in, because it enters through the natural opening of the hair follicle. After that you may feel gentle warmth or a light tingling. You feel less when your skin is well hydrated and when you skip coffee for 24 hours before your visit. If you have a low pain tolerance, you can apply an anaesthetic cream at home about an hour before your visit or ask us for free anaesthesia at the salon. We use the Apilus xCell Pro device, and the consultation includes a 15-minute trial treatment, so you can try it for yourself before starting your course.

Yes. We use only sterile single-use probes, and we disinfect the treatment room and equipment after every client. Before your first visit you fill in a questionnaire that helps us rule out contraindications. Electrolysis is the only method that removes hair permanently.

Laser targets dark pigment, so it struggles with light, red, grey and fine hair, and it only reduces hair growth rather than removing hair permanently. Electrolysis destroys each follicle individually, regardless of hair colour and skin tone, and the result is permanent. If laser has left you with stray hairs or new fine fuzz, electrolysis will remove them.

Yes, we can treat tattooed areas too. Electrolysis works in a different layer of the skin from the ink. However, as the skin heals after treatment, the colour may fade faster, so we work with particular precision around tattoos.

Right after the treatment your skin may be red and slightly swollen. This is a natural reaction that settles within 3 to 5 hours. Sometimes tiny round scabs the size of the follicle opening appear: do not pick them, they will disappear on their own without a trace within 2 to 4 weeks. Well-chosen treatment settings and following the aftercare advice reduce the risk of irritation.
